My shampoo has Cocamide MEA which is not on the Blacklist. Is it similar to Cocamide DEA which is on the Blacklist?

Cocamide DEA and MEA are foam boosters and create leather in products. Cocamide MEA was found to only have a moderate irritation risk while DEA is irritating and corrosive. DEA is also classified as IARC Group 2B carcinogen which is why brands like Colgate, Lush and others agreed to pull it from their products.
MEA is considered safe when used in rinse-off products and in small concentrations up to 10% in leave-on products. If this you found this ingredient is in your shampoo you don't have to worry because it's a rinse-off product.
