If we decide to exclusively use the homemade shampoo we make together next week, will we still need to buy a shampoo with sulfates?

If you use the homemade shampoo as your regular shampoo, you may want to use a sulphate shampoo to clarify your scalp once a month or so. The reason for this is because the homemade shampoo won't be as strong as the sulphate shampoos, so over time may start to not clean your hair as well. So the sulphate shampoo is used to remove anything the homemade shampoo has left behind 'resetting' your scalp. If you use silicones, then you definitely need a sulphate shampoo that suits the specific silicones you are using!
