For optimal health, yes! This can be a super useful way to keep your strands feeling hydrated throughout the week and prevent them drying out too much in-between washes.
Be sure to use an oil that suits your porosity:
- High porosity hair will need a penetrating oil such as Argan Oil, Rose Hip Oil or Sweet Almond Oil.
- Low porosity hair will need a sealing oil such as Meadowfoam Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil or even Squalane. However, humectants are often a much better alternative for this porosity type as they are much lighter and won't weigh down the strands.
- Medium porosity can use a mixture of penetrating and sealing oils.
You can usually go for a humectant only formula for touch-ups as oil can start building on your stands if you go several days without washing. Therefore perhaps try experimenting with an oil or humectant to see what works best for you.
