I use a shampoo that's home-made by someone else. How do I know if it's safe?

You can ask for the ingredients list. If there is no ingredients list, ask which surfactant they are using as well as if the product contains any preservatives, salt, alcohol or fragrance. If yes get the names of those ingredients and look them up in the Blacklist.
