A sealant is essentially a 'leave-in conditioner', it is just a different name for the same step in your routine.
Generally a sealant is deemed a simpler form of 'leave-in conditioner' since usually it only comprises of a few ingredients, such as oils, humectants or perhaps other additions like lactic acid.
A 'leave-in conditioner' often describes something that is a little more complex. Maybe there are more ingredients or different ingredients. Or, maybe you are using a shop-bought leave in conditioner?
When we suggested not to use leave-in conditioners, we meant store-bought leave in conditioners. This is because they are usually quite toxic and it’s a risk to your hair to leave them in your hair for such a long time. If you’re glamming up, a shop-bought leave-in conditioner can be super useful. However, if you’re treating your hair for daily use, then a sealant is the best way to promote the health of your hair long-term.
