The following are some proven heat-protecting ingredients that you can look for in your products:
Quaternium 70, Stearamidopropyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride, P/DMAPA Acrylates Copolymer, 2% glycerin, Polyquaternium-55, Hydrolyzed wheat protein, Hydrolyzed vegetable protein PG-propyl silanetriol, Hydrolyzed wheat protein PG-propyl silanetriol, Sodium polystyrene sulfonate, Sodium laureth-40 maleate/styrene sulfonate copolymer, Dimethicone, Amodimethicone.
Some product recommendations that contain some of these ingredients are:
- AG Hair Curl Re:coil Curl Activator (contains fragrance but on the very bottom of the list. Also features diazolidinyl urea, which is Blacklisted, but this formulation uses such a small amount that won't pose any threats).
- Biolage RAW Heat Styling Primer (contains no blacklisted ingredients).
Just be sure to use proper shampooing if you employ any types of friendly or resilient silicones!
