I have dry skin all over my body but my scalp produces white flakes and often gets oily. Is this dandruff?

While it's probably common to mistake this as dandruff, what you're experiencing sounds like a sensitive scalp that produces too much oil to counter the dryness. It's important to note that dandruff flakes are usually more yellow than white and dandruff treatments could worsen your dry scalp. The first thing you can do is make sure to balance the pH of each product in your haircare routine. Additionally, you can apply aloe vera as a leave-in scalp treatment after conditioning. This will help to soothe the sensitivity.
