An oily scalp usually gets oily within 1-2 days of washing. Therefore, if you find your hair gets oily super quickly, it is likely that you have an oily scalp! You can have an oily scalp that is also sensitive too. For example, some people with oily scalps have sensitivities to certain oils which can cause them to experience more hair fall or irritation when using them. If you are finding that there are certain ingredients that are always giving you trouble, then it is likely you have a sensitive scalp also! However, it is important to note that a 'dry and sensitive' scalp type is not the same as an oily scalp type and both cannot be experienced at once. A dry and sensitive scalp type usually has very little natural oils, has dry powdery flakes, often some redness and soreness can be seen in more extreme cases. Whereas an oily scalp has excessive natural oils from an over production of sebum. It is important to make this distinction in order to make the correct scalp diagnosis!
