Is it better to use Shampoo A or B? Can I use a store-bought shampoo instead of making my own?

When deciding which shampoo to make, it really comes down to your personal preferences and hair needs.
Shampoo A is a slightly stronger formulation, therefore it can work better for those with hair that gets oilier more quickly or for those who don't need to wash their hair everyday.
Shampoo is much gentler, making it a useful recipe for those who prefer to wash their everyday, or for those drier scalp types.
If DIY products aren't your thing then you can absolutely use a commercial product so long as it is Blacklist-free and the pH is adjusted to 4.5-5.5.
