Scalp toners are mostly used to help stretch the period of time in-between washes, by helping to remove any dirt and debris that might build up on the scalp overtime.
- For example, if you have done a workout and got a little sweaty but are not ready to wash your hair, you can use a scalp toner to remove the sweat off of your scalp until you decide to wash your hair the next day.
- Or, perhaps you have been out in the city where you are surrounded by pollution? When you get home you can use a scalp toner to remove that pollution from your scalp without having to wash your hair immediately.
- You could also add this step to your night routine, to help cleanse your scalp before you go to bed, ready to be washed the next day!
However, if you work out everyday and find that you do tend to sweat a lot, don't be afraid to wash your hair everyday using a gentle shampoo. For example, Shampoo B is a great option for this! This will help you ensure you are removing all of the sweat and aren't leaving any to sit on your scalp for long periods of time!
In regards to how to use the scalp toner, you can put a little bit on a cotton pad, part your hair and then swipe the cotton pad across the parting. Keep parting the hair in different places and applying the toner until you have done as much of your scalp as you can. Afterwards you can give yourself a scalp massage to really help if sink in.
