If you are using a silk scrunchie and are finding that it keeps slipping out of your hair, it can be due to many reasons:
- You are making your hairstyle too loose. Although we certainly do not want to style our hair too tightly as that can put tension on our follicles, we also don't want to style our hair too loosely, otherwise the weight of the hairstyle and scrunchie starts to pull on our follicles too as it slips down the back of our head. Therefore, you want to ensure your hair styles are secure to prevent the hair from moving around so much.
- The hairstyle doesn't suit the activity you are doing. For example, if you have put your hair in a loose bun, but you have planned to go for a jog, the movement of running will simply cause the scrunchie to slip out of your hair and pull on your follicles. This is why silk scrunchies are better used for sleeping in, rather than doing any activities that require more movement.
We do have some lessons about everyday protective hairstyles and protective sleep styles within our HairQare Lab Program. So do stay tuned for those!
