This will ultimately depend on your unique circumstances. Some students benefit from a regular protein conditioner whilst others use an occasional treatment. As with most things, it is best to start small and gradually increase the frequency or strength of your protein treatments until you find what suits you. Often times, you will notice if you are overloading your hair with protein as it will start to feel brittle. To avoid this, routinely do porosity tests on your strands.
