I want to make the Glossy Hair Mask for Extra Shine, but it contains coconut oil. Can I replace this with something more suitable for low-porosity hair?

It is possible to make the Glossy Hair Mask for Extra Shine formulation more suitable for low-porosity strands by replacing the coconut oil with a more sealing oil such as jojoba, sea buckthorn, alma or babassu. Keep in mind that this formulation can also be used as a scalp treatment; in this case, you'll want to make sure your choice of oil is scalp-friendly as well. As an example, alma and babassu are generally well-tolerated on the scalp whereas jojoba and sea buckthorn are best left for the strands only.
