If we should only be using shampoo on our scalps, how do I wash off the pre-shampoo on my strands?

When removing your pre-shampoo, the shampoo from your scalp may be sufficient if you allow it to rinse out down the hair shafts. However, if you are still left with some pre-shampoo residue after this, it is best to wash again and perhaps add some shampoo to your strands. In such an instance, you may want to consider finding a more suitable pre-shampoo for your hair type to avoid having to use shampoo directly on your strands. Although, it is important to remember that, while shampoo is generally not recommended for strand application, some instances do require this. For example, friendly and resilient silicones need shampoo in order to be effectively removed from your strands.
