Is it possible to use a combination of reetha, amla, and shikakai powders as an alternative to reetha powder, or would this affect the surfactant quality?

You can effectively substitute reetha powder with a combination of reetha, amla, and shikakai powders so long as your scalp reacts positively. The surfactant strength will stay relatively the same as the reetha powder contains the highest content of saponins amongst the three powders. As always, do be sure to patch-test your ingredients prior to usage.
