When experiencing frizziness, it is important to assess how your current season or climate may be affecting your hair and adjust then your routine accordingly. The first thing you'll want to consider is whether or not you are using any humectants in your haircare routine as these can create a lot of frizz when used in too moist or too dry of conditions. If so, alter your formulations to be humectant-free, paying particular attention to formulations that don't rinse out (i.e. conditioners and sealants). Be sure to utilize a sealant as your final step as this will help to keep your hair sleek and smooth. Some options for ingredients that help to protect against humidity and frizz are shea butter, argan oil, jojoba oil and lactic acid. As always, do consider your hair profile when choosing which ingredients to use.
