The three main types of protective hairstyles to use when sleeping are a braid, rope twist braid or a loose bun. Ideally these hairstyles should be loose, rather than tight.
When styling your hair for sleep, you want to aim for your hair to be placed at the top of your head to ensure it rests comfortably on/over your pillow (instead of getting caught between your head, pillow, and/or bedsheets).
We have a lesson all about protective sleep styles in the HairQare Lab Program, so stay tuned for that!
