Overall yes, if there is fragrance as part of the last 2-3 ingredient in a long list, it means that the quantity is really low so the irritation and other risks are minimal. You may still want to avoid it in the following situations: 1- If your hair is very dry, brittle and broken AND it's a leave in product. The main concerns about blacklist ingredients is the quantity of the blacklist ingredient but also for how long you'll leave it on your hair. If your hair is already super weak, then leaving fragrance or salt sitting on it for days may have visible consequences, even in low concentration. 2- If your scalp is VERY sensitive and the product has chances to sit on your scalp for a while. Again, if it's a shampoo that will be rinsed immediately the risk is really low but if you know your skin flares up the second it touches an irritant ingredient then it may be better for you to avoid it completely. If it's a scalp treatment to add on your scalp after washing, then probably better to avoid. Overall there is not one rule for all and we know how hard it is to find clean products so we always encourage our students to test different things as long as you monitor your condition closely and stop the usage of any product that would have bad results, irritation etc.
