My homemade shampoo doesn't lather as much as I'm used to. Did I do something wrong?

No it's perfectly normal as the homemade shampoo is a gentle shampoo :-) The quantity of foam that your shampoo produces is directly linked to the strength of the surfactant. Mild shampoo = less foam. Your regular wash shampoo should be mild to avoid over-stripping your scalp from oils but then it won't produce as much 'satisfying foam'. BUT it doesn't mean that it's not effective. We would advise to give it a try for a few washes to see how your scalp and hair feels. In the beginning it is strange but a lot of people find their hair loss reduce or their scalp oiliness reduced after introducing a mild shampoo to their routine. If you still find your hair is not clean enough or you experience some itchiness or else, check again the help widget for more advice on how to tweak your shampoo formulation to get the best results from your homemade shampoo!
