Xanthan gum itself does not inherently contain salt (sodium chloride) as part of its molecular structure. It is a polysaccharide, which means it is a carbohydrate made from sugar residues. However, certain manufacturers may use salt in the production process to stabilize the ingredient or improve its texture. Normally, the salt used in the production process should be in extremely low concentration and likely won’t have any impact on your scalp and hair.
