How do I know if I have genetically less hair follicles and resulting little hair and less volume?

Hair follicle density varies across ethnicities, influenced by genetics and evolution. East Asians and some Indigenous groups generally have the highest follicle density, paired with thick, straight hair. Caucasians have moderate density with diverse textures, from straight to curly. South Asians also show moderate density but often have thick, wavy, or straight hair. People of African descent tend to have fewer follicles, but their tightly coiled hair provides natural volume and protection. Middle Eastern and North African populations display wide variation, often with coarser, wavy hair. Of course it varies from person to person but this is a rule of thumb so you can get an idea.
What is most important to say is that every person in a normal healthy state is able to have hair that look full. The reason why people end up having thin-looking hair is because too many follicles stay in a dormant state (due to various reasons) which then reduce the amount of hair growing on the scalp.
If this is your case don't worry, by boosting your health and customising your haircare routine to fit your unique hair's needs, you can reactivate many hair follicles on your head and regain a fuller density.
