Silicones are quite special as they contain a big combo of helping properties for our hair, but it’s totally possible to grow healthy hair without it, replacing each property with other natural ingredients or strategic practices. Here are some examples: Raspberry oil is interesting to use for UV protection Protective sleep styles help reduce the friction on the hair during the night, reducing breakage Emollients like BTMS in conditioners help the hair be softer and also reduce tangles and breakage. It won’t ‘stick’ to the hair as much as silicones, so it is less effective, but combined with other practices, it’s a huge help for many hair profiles Hair oils can also support the hair to maintain its moisture and soften the cuticle etc. The choice of the exact right routine, products, and practices depends on your unique hair profile, so I can’t give just one recommendation, but you’re already discovering many of these in the Challenge. I’m sure your routine will be so different by the end of it!
